National Rehabilitation Centre „Vaivari” is an ideal place for successful medical rehabilitation – not only because of its beautiful surrounding nature, woods and the sea, the within easy reach distance from the capital and all the other parts of Latvia, but thanks to the fact that it is an up-to-date medical institution with well equipped new technologies and professional staff.

The foundation date of “Vaivari “ is seen as May 10, 1992 when a State Child and Mother’s Rehabilitation centre was opened in a place of the former Soviet nomenclature recreation centre. Initially it provided rehabilitation services only for children, however after a year the functions of the Centre were expanded and it was granted the status of National Rehabilitation Centre.

Since then „Vaivari” has been a medical rehabilitation, health and social care centre, education and research centre of national significance in Latvia.

One of the main areas of activities of the NRC „Vaivari" is to provide the second stage medical rehabilitation. The medical, technical and professional resources of „ Vaivari” are of a sufficiently high level to provide a full spectrum of medical treatment services. An important goal set for the staff is not only to develop the Centre itself, but to improve and develop the field of medical rehabilitation on the state level.
